All my life, sounds and touch have been central.  This is deep in me and comes from my heart.

For me, singing bowls, music and massages are ways to connect from relaxation and connection and to help you further on your way.  So that you can stand in your own power (again), feel better in your own skin or dare to express yourself more.

As a girl I noticed the power of touch and massage.  I would sit in front of my grandmother’s chair and she would tickle and massage me.  Her gentle touch gave me a tingling, safe and secure feeling and I always went home with more energy.  I, too, have those golden hands, I often heard from my relatives.  Sometimes I would just touch a spot, that one spot, which happened to bother them without them telling me.

It still took some time before I made a career out of it.  I opted for education (primary education) and music (conservatoire).  The latter was obvious, because my mother was a professional pianist and I grew up in a house full of music.  Self-expression was important.  Even as a child, I could dance, move and sing without fear, and I still do 🙂  In music lessons, I teach people to express themselves through singing, piano and/or saxophone, without inhibition, and to have fun doing this or have an outlet.

I worked briefly in education as a primary school teacher and music teacher for schools from the Royal Concertgebouw (NL) and a world music school (NL).  While it was beautiful to feel what children needed and to respond to that, it was also intense because of my high sensitivity (HSP).  I quickly and strongly feel what someone needs and in large groups of children that is a lot.  When I offered music lessons from my own practice to individuals or small groups, I noticed that high sensitivity suddenly became my strength.  I can easily connect with what someone needs and sense which approach works.

I could also trust myself and my intuition more and more.  I believe and notice in my own life that everything starts flowing when you dare to follow this and do something from your heart and with love.

I felt I had to do something else besides teaching.  I became a DJ for a while.  I also went to a producer training course.  It was very interesting, but the final work was also very individualistic and ‘head work’.  This training did lead me to my next step.  I discovered the healing effect of sounds and what it can do to people.  A new world opened up for me.  This offered me the meaning I was looking for.  My music lessons took on a more coaching character.

I discovered that I also wanted to make contact with people in other ways to help them feel better about themselves.  I decided to focus on massages.  I took two year courses (at Veerman/Leffelaar) and followed an intensive course at the Wellness Academy, where I was soon to become a teacher.

Besides massages, I became interested in singing bowls and already owned one.  This expanded to several bowls and it became a fascination.  The singing bowls brought two worlds together for me: that of sound and that of massage.  Coincidence does not exist and I got to know Esther van Santen. The techniques she uses were passed on to her through years of training in sound healing in Nepal, the birthplace of singing bowls.  She passed on these techniques and her vision to me.

I see everyone as they are and people in all their diversity quickly feel at ease with me.  More and more it has grown naturally that I have gone the way of helping on a deeper level.  As a means for helping I use the singing bowls, massages and music to touch a part of someone.  The body and everything around it then has the power to continue working on its own.

In 2022 a new phase has arrived in my life. After living in Amsterdam for eleven years, I took the step to emigrate to the South of France. From 2023 I will be living in Azillanet, a village surrounded by vineyards in the Cathar country.
